MacWorld Video Blog: Fighting for (Macbook) Air

I hit MacWorld 2008 with my friend Doug and we brought our video camera along. We never saw Randy Newman (or the Keynote) but we did meet some online celebrities, dance in a sound booth, and find out why we're not chic enough for female-centric laptop bags.

Responsible Blogging or Responsible Reading? What of the iPhone Hoax Market Cap Dip?

If you're here reading this, you probably already know about the "iPhone Delayed Until October" email hoax that rattled Apple Fanboys and investors a bit yesterday. In case you hadn't heard, the short version of the story is that Engadget posted what they thought was an internal Apple email informing employees of the delay (and accompanying push-back of OS X 10.5 "Leopard" from October to January '08).

NK @ ad:tech

Went to a party thrown by 4info.net (mobile search company) during ad:tech in San Francisco a few weeks back. This photo turned up on Flickr. Some of you know the lovely gal next to me as Java Girl ... I think of her as the great friend who introduced me to my now wife ;-)

Boom Goes the YouTube

By real popularity standards it wasn't much, I know ... but my ROKR E6 video got picked up by Gizmodo last week and also got an Editor's Pick nod on YouTube. 25k views and counting. Pretty cool. Just posted my new one for the Samsung UpStage. I think this is actually a much better video. Check it out (I'll post it here under Cell Phones & Accessories).

And thanks to all who watched it, and to Gizmodo for picking it up!

Honda Creates a Rube Goldberg Machine

Got this in an email from my Dad. Pretty cool ... Especially the windshield wipers that shimmy shake like Antoine Walker in his obnoxious prime ...

Geeks Will Not Be Silenced

So there's some user-generated uproar over at Digg (and Wikipedia, Slashdot, Reddit, etc) regarding something that seems to toe the line between First Amendment rights and Geeks wanting to freely pirate HD-DVD content.

Never too busy to blog, or ... Warrior Fever sweeps the nation, but Charles Barkley still hates us

Literary Fellow writes:
p.s. what, you're too busy to blog now?

Yeah. Yeah, I've been too busy to blog. Damn, tryin' to get over when speeding truckers are blowing up your freeways is hard, leave me alone.

No, for real, I got all into blogging, went to Hawa'ii for 10 days, and didn't care about blogging when I got back. Haven't cared about it since. Well, hadn't until UA jabbed at me as such. So fine, here's your blog ...

Dear Mars, Please Send Aaron Sorkin Back To Us

Last night, Java Guy asked me if I'd watched this week's episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip yet. I hadn't - still haven't, but I tivoed it on the Fake Tivo and plan to watch it this weekend.

"It was really good, I thought," he said. "The show itself was extra-impressive even though the show within a show was extra-unfunny and Harriet was extra-unfunny."
"Huh."
"There were a few scenes that really had the old Aaron Sorkin magic."

Box Score of the Night:
Amare goes 7 for 11, drops 22 & 15 boards on Yao (18 & 6): Phoenix 102, Houston 91.
That's why Amare and D12 are on my Next Five Years squad and Yao is not (D12 had 24 and 12 - Magic d. Seattle). Microfracture surgery be damned!
